WILLEMETTE VILLAGE NEIGHBORHOOD ASSOCIATION

MONTHLY MEETING MINUTES

 

THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 8, 2001

6:30 P.M.

 

Karla brought meeting to order at 6:30 p.m.

 

Randy Matthews was absent, so Karla gave the crime report and discussed theft problems in the neighborhood.

 

Robin read minutes and Chris gave treasury report.

          Treasury balance:    $249.25

Luan gave a neighborhood history overview/status.

 

Quentin Emge (1708 Hercules) passed away.

 

Karla sent a thank-you note to Officer Tuley.

 

The group asked about Officer Barnes and his status was given.

 

We received a $500 grant from United Way.

 

The following items were discussed regarding Neighborhood Watch Signs:

·        13 signs for $137.29.

·        Will cover the perimeter of the neighborhood.

·        Ray White volunteered to help put up signs.

·        Joan motioned to go ahead with the signs.  Earl seconded and the motion was passed.

 

The following items were discussed regarding signage for future meetings:

·        Flyers, containing the schedule for the year, will be passed out for next month’s meeting.

·        Range $14.65-$7.00.

·        Yellow signs with black lettering.

·        25 signs for $175.00.

·        Both sides?  Sticky letters?

·        Greg suggested doing flyers permanently if attendance is better.

·        Robin recommended flyers at local businesses.

·        Jim recommended using the church marquee for meeting notification.

·        Greg recommended another business for sign quote – Karla will investigate further.

 

Church representative mentioned that the library program has been halted.

 

Karla talked regarding the United Neighborhood Association Meetings.

 

We need to fill the following positions:

·        Welcoming Committee

·        Beautification Committee

 

The Refreshment Committee is doing well.

 

Karla adjourned the meeting at 7:20 p.m.
