2000 ANNUAL REPORT OF ACTIVITIES

January

  1. Election of officers
  2. Presentation on meth labs by detective Jerry Tuley E.P.D. Narcotics Division

February

  1. Neighborhood Association received a $700.00 grant from the Neighborhood Investment Council

March

  1. Neighborhood watch signs were installed around area perimeter - 13 total

April

May

  1. Speakers from Evansville Police Department spoke at May Meeting. They were LT. Joyce Molinet, SGT. Debbie Thompson, Officer Jeff Vantlin and Lundy.

June

  1. Speaker at June meeting regarding socceer fields located on Morgan Avnue on Oakhill Cemetary property. The speakers were Mayor Lloyd, 7 city councilmen, members of the Elite Socceer Association.
  2. Operation City Beautiful cleanup - Alley and park area next to Keck Baptist Chruch

July

  1. Speaker at July Meeting concerning Morgan Avenue socceer field. Speakers were city councilmen Jim Angermier and Steve Melcher and the head of the Parks and Recreation Department, Mike Madriaga

August

  1. National Night Out - Wesselman Park
  2. Speaker at August meeting - Mr. Ron Graul of the Southwestern Indiana Disaster Resistant Community Corporation. He introduced the idea of us becoming the first C.E.R.T. (Citizens Emergency Response Team) in a 3 state area. Voted on and passed and 14 people will start class in November

September

  1. Steve Melcher (3rd ward City Councel) spoke at September meeting on a variety of neighborhood concerns

October

  1. Red Ribbon Week - Drug Free Schools
  2. Presentation Given on police identification pens at October meeting

November

  1. Our 14 member Citizens Energency Response Team graduates

December

  1. Association purchased yard signs to display meeting dates
  2. Christmas party - Carry in - Social hour meeting
